The Hunger Games Book Review!

For this review I will be talking about The Hunger Games trilogy. The Hunger Games was the book that introduced me to the literary universe. I never liked reading during most of middle school and one day a teacher gave me the first book in the Hunger Games series. I threw it in one of my shelfs as soon as I got home and never bothered to give it a chance. Then, I don't know what got into me that I decided to give it a chance and I ended up loving books and everything that has to do with reading. And now I ask myself who wouldn't? Having a television in your mind where you can come up with whatever you want? Brilliant. After reading the first one I fell in love with the rest of the series. The Hunger Games has adventure, action, and sci-fi altogether. It is a book about what our future as humanity would look like and how much messed up we would be. What makes it so interesting is the main character Katniss Everdeen. She is the strong female character every book should have. She lives in what is called District 12 where there's a lot of poverty and almost everyone is starving. She hunts in a prohibited area by the government to bring home food for her family and sell the rest for money. Every year a boy and a girl from 12-years-old to 18-years-old are chosen from each 12 districts by a lottery to go to an isolated place to fight for their lives. Only one of the 24 come out alive and the district where the winner is from gets lots of food and money. Katniss is a complete revolutionary and stirs the entire system in her favor making the districts rebel against the government. Her character is so inspiring and she's so skilled at everything and doesn't let anyone dictate her life which makes her one of the strongest female protagonists I've read about. It is a great book to read and the continuation of the series just get better and better. I would give this book a 10/10.

"May the odds be ever in your favor!"
"Katniss, the girl who was on fire!"
"If we burn, you burn with us!"
