The Great Gatsby Book Review!

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is the type of book that your school assigns as summer reading and you don't want to read but you end up loving it and obsessed with it. That's what happened to me. The Great Gatsby is such a great book. It is told from Nick Carraway's point of view about the life of Gatsby, a powerful rich man. Nick is a good narrator and gives the readers a different perspective than what we would get if Gatsby told the story from his perspective. It is set in America in the 1920s (the jazz age yes!) which makes it more memorable because we get to experience the jazz age like if we were actually there. Gatsby is a wealthy man and he wants to make Daisy fall in love with him. Daisy is married to Tom Buchanan and has a daughter but this doesn't stop Gatsby and he is willing to do everything it takes to make her leave her husband and live with him happily ever after. Nick is Daisy's cousin from the West and he moves to the East (New York) to explore new things. This novel mainly assess social issues at the time but if it is analyzed deeply we can see a lot of different social issues that are addressed in the novel. It is a great book, it is not that long that it becomes tiring, and it will make you addicted because F. Scott Fitzgerald finds a way of keeping you attached to it all the time. It has great plot twists that make it more interesting and make the reader wonder what is going to happen next. After you read the book I also recommend watching the movies because they are also really good. This is probably the only book I've ever liked that I discovered through school because it's so good and addictive. I would 10/10 recommend this book because trust me it will give you the chills. I hope you guys read it and fall in love with it like I did.

"I hope she'll be a fool -- that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool."
"He smiled understandingly -- much more than understandingly. It was one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life."
