For my first book review I will be reviewing The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris. I am personally super excited about this review because I got this book by accident at the library and ended up loving it. It is a novel based on the events of the Holocaust. It is such a carefully written book whose purpose is to make you cry and fall in love with the characters. Lale is the Jewish protagonist who finds himself at a German concentration camp at 19 years old. He goes through a lot in the camp but meets a girl named Gita and their story starts. This book will keep you hooked and wondering what is going to happen next. I have to confess I cried about 5 times while reading this book and I don't regret it.
My favorite quotes from this book are:
"Nations can threaten other nations. They have power, they have militaries. How can a race that is spread out across multiple countries be considered a threat?"
"To save one is to save the world"
